Education is what makes humans better
than all other living beings, and books have been the source of
education since time immemorial. Since the independence of our
country, Indian publishing and authorship has gone from strength to
strength. In the field of law education, one name that has an
undeniable presence is the firm known as Allahabad Law Agency.
A company nearly as old as our country
(the foundation of this company was laid in 1950), the third
generation of the family now proudly owns and sustains it. Even after
independence, law students of India had to go abroad and spend Lakhs
of Rupees to get quality law education. As the government established
new colleges and law faculties in universities, a need for affordable
quality law student editions was felt. At that time, two young
brothers Mr. T. N. Nirula and Mr. B. L. Nirula became the pioneers in
this field. Their success lay in their hard work, faith and
recognition of talent of authors such as Dr. Paras Diwan, R.K Bangia,
B.N.M Tripathi, M.P. Tandon, and many more...
As the company grew, and the field of
law education widened, there was no law subject that was not made a
part of the growing catalogue of books of this company. The foresight
led even some books on certain subjects to be published, even before
these subjects became a part of the curriculum countrywide, such as
environmental law and cyber law. From north to south, and east to
west, the company travelled to make its presence felt. Seminars, book
fairs (Indian and International), student conferences, annual days,
etc. became the forums where the company representatives met law
students and teachers for their feedback and future planning.
While the second generation laid the
foundation by improving the aesthetics and content of the books,
putting the company on the country-wide map, and searching new
talent, the third generation is now a part of strengthening the
workforce and modernizing the company to bring the students of law a
world-class experience. The endeavor shall be to continue providing
quality education, while maintaining the affordability for law
students. With growing legal awareness, the people of India required
books that would explain the law of the country in simple words and
terms. Here again, the company is being the pioneer and have brought
out some books for the layman written by the experts of their field,
while a lot many books in this series are in the pipeline. The future
seems very enlightening and exciting.
At this point in time we would like to
wish to thank all our authors, customers, and dealers who have been a
part of our success story.
Our Guiding Force
Mr. B. L. Nirula (1929–2008) was and
still remains our guiding force. His physical presence may no longer
be with us, but not a day passes without his advice and words of
wisdom not being lived by each member of our family. A simple man of
high principles, his wisdom, benevolence, and honesty has been and
shall remain the precursor of our future.
